Several dimensions are available together. The useful move is to preserve diversity—body, connection, structure, reward and future—so no single success has to carry the whole system.

Why this option?

Mind and World are the least available resources. There is enough room to couple body, regulation and one action in the world.

THE SCIENCE BEHIND THE METAPHORConditions are coupled. This is not a clinical simulation.

What are you seeing?

A state-space metaphor inspired by dynamical systems: body, regulation, choice, connection, environment and future share one field. Height and light are visual encodings, not brain measurements. The Flow Hijacked question is how a change in one condition may reshape what is reachable in a coupled system. Nonlinear and non-normal dynamics inform this question; this map uses explicit, illustrative rules rather than calculating those dynamics.

What is assumed?

Connection → mental room → a more reachable future

The authored rule changes 3 dimensions here. Its magnitude is illustrative, not a research-estimated effect. The slider is neither elapsed time nor a chance of success. Outer lights turn on only when the model’s action rules are met. They do not measure your actual capabilities.

What can’t it tell you?

This is not a forecast, promised improvement or relapse prediction. Linking these domains is the Flow Hijacked lens, not validation of the diagram’s numeric relationships. Judge the experiment by what actually happens.

05 / YOUR RETURN MAP

What helped you return?

Compare your own check-ins: what felt available, which actions were possible and what followed. A pattern needs repeated observations. It remains a question to explore.

The map begins with one honest moment.

As more check-ins are saved, weeks, months, comparable sequences and routes of return will appear here.

YOUR SIX-MINUTE SYNTHESIS

ASSEMBLED IN REAL TIME FROM THIS FIELD

The task is consolidation, not escalation.

01

Why this reading appeared

This six-minute synthesis is assembled from the dimensions you reported now, the change signal you marked and the longitudinal pattern—if enough private check-ins exist on this device. It is not a diagnosis and it does not infer hidden facts. Its purpose is narrower: to translate a living state into the Flow Hijacked languages of body, brain, learning, relationships, time and control, then end with one testable movement. The reading changes when the field changes because a useful explanation must answer to the actual bottleneck rather than repeat the same advice to everyone.

Right now, Mind and World form the bottleneck; 9 degrees of freedom remain available.

02

Reading the field

A wider field is not a verdict that recovery is complete. It means more than one response is currently reachable: the body can support action, another person can be contacted, a routine can carry intention and tomorrow has enough credibility to influence today. Lecture 31 warns against replacing this living profile with one score. Lecture 46's navigability envelope makes consolidation the protection of route diversity and return capacity—not the pursuit of constant happiness. The more important questions are whether the repertoire survives disturbance, how quickly routes return and whether support is distributed across several parts of life.

03

Mechanism—without reducing the person

Complex systems can appear stable while remaining vulnerable to a sufficiently aligned perturbation. Flow Hijacked borrows this language cautiously: good days matter, but resilience is better tested by return after conflict, fatigue or disrupted routine. Diverse rewards, roles and relationships reduce the burden on any single route. Autonomy, competence and relatedness provide one evidence-based vocabulary for why a life can widen beyond symptom control.

04

Degrees of freedom, not a score

The dynamical claim is modest but consequential. A state is not defined only by how bad or good it feels; it is also defined by what transitions remain reachable, what inputs are amplified and how quickly the system returns after disturbance. Two people can report the same craving or mood while possessing very different routes back. This is why Recovery Degrees of Freedom counts viable branches rather than moral performance. A branch can be tiny—a pause, water, a message, a changed route home—yet still matter because it alters the next transition and may recruit larger resources later.

05

Translation into action and therapy

The recommendation is consolidation without rigidity. Preserve the anchors that are carrying the field, add one bounded experiment and keep a route back visible for difficult days. Integrative and process-based therapy can help organize which processes matter across contexts; ACT can keep values translated into action without making wellbeing dependent on a particular feeling. The model should learn not only what improves a check-in, but what helps the person return after it worsens.

06

What the model is allowed to learn

The longitudinal layer earns specificity slowly. Before enough observations exist, it says that it is learning. Later it may identify repeating sequences, such as body reserve and connection falling before control narrows, or structure improving before the future becomes more reachable. These are within-person observations, not causal proof or relapse forecasts. Their value is experimental: they suggest which upstream combination to repeat, what interval to protect and what to bring into a conversation with a clinician, sponsor, peer or trusted person.

METHOD, TRANSPARENCY & LIMITS

How an option is ranked—and what the system cannot know.

The weights are open to scrutiny. This is an educational design, not a clinically validated algorithm.
OPEN METHOD + LIMITS
01

Permitted inputs

Six present-moment self-ratings, up to two change signals, and prior feedback about feasibility and what followed an action. The system does not infer diagnosis, trauma, risk or unreported facts.

02

Rule-based ranking

Each practice is weighted by pressure in its target domain, change-signal fit, time burden, evidence tier, route fit and prior feedback. There is no random choice and no language model inventing a recommendation in real time.

03

Conservative within-person learning

Feedback that an action was feasible or infeasible—and that the following interval was helpful, unchanged or worse—gradually changes rank. Comparisons appear only after repeated entries and remain descriptive, not causal.

04

Hard boundaries

Do not use the tool to assess danger, withdrawal, overdose, psychosis, dissociation, self-harm, treatment choice or trauma processing. Those situations require qualified human or urgent support—not continued interaction with the map.

What we learned

The field is not a score of the person; it is a temporary picture of which moves feel reachable now.

Why the next step follows The next move is one small action, followed by a return that notices change without turning recovery into a game.
